Kelli Tennyson teaches T’ai Chi Ch’uan classes throughout the Twin Cities. Kelli is a Certified Tai Chi for Arthritis and Tai Chi for Diabetes Teacher. Her Tai Chi and Qigong training includes ongoing study of Yang Traditional Long form (Yang 108), Yiquan, Tai Chi Ruler and walking meditation with Sifu Fong Ha of the Intergral Chuan Institute (Berkley, CA). As well as, her talented teachers: Master Trainer Prof. Russ Smiley and Senior Trainer Keith Root. She has also had the pleasure of studing with Kenneth Cohen, author of The Way of Qigong.
Kelli is a graduate of the Boston Feldenkrais Professional Training Program and has been teaching Feldenkrais for over ten years. (Feldenkrais is a method for improving one’s posture and movement, recovering from injuries and injury prevention.) She has taught Feldenkrais to professional dancers, actors and athletes, as well as, working with breast cancer survivors, senior citizens and children with neurological disorders.
She came to Tai Chi and the Feldenkrais Method after eight years as a Professional Modern Dancer performing in the US, Asia and Eastern Europe. She has performed locally at such notable venues as The Northrop Auditorium, The Ordway’s McKnight Theater, Walker Art Center, The Southern Theater and Hennepin Center for the Arts.
Kelli is also an organic farmer with her partner Tim Sutton. Their farm, Broadfork Farm www.broadforkfarm.org is located in the Sogn Valley near Cannon Falls (45 minutes SE of Minneapolis). They sell produce locally to their CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm members and The Linden Hills Farmers Market in Mpls Sundays June 3rd- Oct 28th 9:30am – 2:30pm.
